形態特徵

• Suffruticose plants, to 1.5 cm tall, covered with septate hairs; stems stout, square, angles obtuse.
• Leaves petiolate; petioles 0.5–2 cm long, minutely hairy; blades 3–10 cm long, 1–4 cm wide, elliptic to narrowly ovate, base cuneate, apex acute, margins serrate, both surfaces minutely hairy and glandular dotted.
• Inflorescences of verticillate cymes forming compact racemes, terminal or axillary, peduncles to 4 cm long, with minute spines and hairs; bracteoles linear to spine-like, puberulent. Flowers subsessile; calyx campanulate-tubular, 5-toothed, puberulent, glandular dotted, 2–4 mm long, teeth equal or nearly so, spine-like, minutely hairy; corolla tubular, 2–3 mm long, limb bilabiate, puberulent, lower lip 3-lobed, central lobe broadly ovate, lateral lobes ovate, upper lip deeply divided; stamens 4, included, filaments minutely hairy, anthers 2-celled; stigma bifid.
• Nutlets compressed-ellipsoid, mucronate, 1–1.2 mm long.
